Scarecrow

10x10

Acrylic and collage on linen

An abstract painting reminiscent of the 1939 "The Wizard of Oz". This film is full of juicy symbolism. The irony in the Scarecrow's story, of course, was that his deepest desire to get a brain turned out to be an unnecessary one.

He was the most analytical and deep-thinking leader of the group. His travels with Dorothy and the crew put him in a position to lead, solve relevant problems, and build confidence. How cool is that?

Get to know the artist

Michelle Spiziri's art reflects Abstract Expressionism. However, she has an uncanny ability to evoke unique, evocative imagery while revealing unexpected visual stories.

She is also exploring ceramic sculpture as a medium of extended expression.

Much like life, and while digging deeper within ourselves, inside the nucleus of Michelle’s art there exist layers of complexities, discoveries, and synchronicities forming before the reveal of a finished work.

Michelle believes that the sometimes chaotic journey involves a chrysalis state of deconstruction in order to create something fresh and meaningful.
